Winners galore at the end of Fairtrade Fortnight!

Fairtrade Fortnight 2011 ends today, Sunday 13th March.

This year’s Fortnight has seen many winners at the University of Glamorgan…

Pro-Vice-Chancellor Helen Marshall was the ‘champion of champions’ in a pancake race held on the Students’ Union patio on Shrove Tuesday; she kindly donated her prize hamper to the Students’ Union to be used for further promotion of Fairtrade.

Fairtrade prizes were also collected by the winners of competitions at the Chaplaincy’s International Party on March 8th.

And the workers in some of the world’s poorest nations were winners when their clothes were modelled at Glamorgan’s 2011 Fashion Show at the start of Fairtrade Fortnight.

The fortnight ends today, but Fairtrade wins when you choose Fairtrade all year round. Fairtrade products are sold at all the main Glamorgan catering outlets, and the campus will continue to have one vending point where all products are Fairtrade. Watch this space!
