Ignorance to Knowledge

The Chaplaincy was represented at the third consultation of Christians and Muslims on 19th June. It was held at the Future Inn in Cardiff Bay. The idea of the consultation is that members of the different faiths will meet together in an attempt to understand one another. The group, who were divided into smaller groups, sat around tables.

Martin Shipton, Western Mail political journalist began the day by listing stereotypes of Christianity. This was followed by small group discussion on the points. Then mid day prayers and lunch. After this Mr.Shipton discussed the stereotypes of Islam. The day ended with a panel being asked questions about their standpoints based on what had been discussed in the day.
