Chaplaincy Events for this term

We thought you might like to know what’s happening this term…



– At 5pm on Wednesday 23rd January, at the Chaplaincy room, Tramsheds, Glyntaf campus, there will be a film night – Little Miss Sunshine with refreshments, the film will be followed by an open discussion. If you are interested in attending please let us know by email response. It’s a free night and it should be really interesting. There will be 2 more film nights at the 20 Llantwit Rd chaplaincy centre, we’ll be confirming the films and their details over the next few weeks.



– We will be marking Holocaust Memorial Day on Monday 28th January. More information will follow from us and glamlife will also be carrying details.



– February 6th is Ash Wednesday. 8am at the Chaplaincy room, Tramsheds, Glyntaf campus Father Gareth Leyshon will be leading a short service. The same service will also be said at 11.15am in the 20 Llantwit Rd chaplaincy centre.



– Fairtrade Fortnight is coming up between the 25th February and the 9th March. There will be lots of exciting events happening on the various University sites, more information will follow but please note the dates in your diary.



– During Fairtrade Fortnight there will be a party for St David’s Day, on Saturday 1st March, we’ll fill you in about the specifics of the party, but please add it to your diary now so you know that the chaplaincy is inviting you to it.



– March 20th is Maundy Thursday Communion service at 12.15pm in the Chaplaincy room, Tramsheds, Glyntaf campus.



As well as these special events we have our regular weekly services during term time:
– The Chaplaincy holds weekly communion services. Everyone is invited to share in these short services which will last approximately 20 minutes. Whether you are able to attend or not you are welcome to make prayer requests by emailing chaplaincy@glam.ac.uk. Please be sensitive to confidentiality issues.


Holy Communion on Tuesdays in the Chaplaincy Room on the Glyntaf Campus and on Wednesday at the Chaplaincy Centre.


Roman Catholic Mass on Tuesdays in the Chaplaincy Centre and on Thursdays in the Chaplaincy room on the Glyntaf Campus.


For those who wish to participate, all these celebrations happen at 12.15pm in term time, whether at the 20 Llantwit Rd Chaplaincy centre, or in the Chaplaincy quiet room at Glyntaf. Please consult the Chaplain or see the notice board in the Chaplaincy room for an update or any change in arrangements. For the 12.15pm communion in the Chaplaincy Centre you are welcome to stay afterwards and eat your lunch with us, the kettle will be on.


– Chewsdays at Castle Square. Pop into Castle Square (by the Pink Shop and Treforest train station) every Tuesday during term time for an affordable lunch. Meet other students and people from the local community over a tasty meal.


– Monthly Healthcare Prayers. The first Monday of each month at 11am, there will be a brief time of prayer for global healthcare. This is held in the Chaplaincy Room on the Glyntaf Campus
